Goodstock HMA

24 hours of great work for good causes

24 hours of great work for good causes

We will be hosting Goodstock HMA from both our Vancouver and Toronto offices.  This 24-hour marathon of free fundraising, design, and creative work will take place on December 4th, 2009, ending on the morning of December 5th.

The HMA team working out of the Vancouver office will be offering their services for free to 4 local charities during Goodstock Vancouver,

The HMA team working out of the Toronto office will be offering their services to 3 local charities during Goodstock Toronto.

The idea is based on Goodstock, a project by Knupp & Watson, a US-based advertising and marketing firm.

The charities

In Vancouver

And in Toronto:

  • Golden Rescue: The Canadian Golden Retriever Adoption Service - a volunteer-based group dedicated to rescuing and re-homing displaced Golden Retrievers, as well as educating the public about pet ownership.
  • Eva’s Initiatives - works with homeless and at-risk youth ages 16 to 24 to get them off the streets permanently.
  • Annex Cat Rescue - a volunteer-based group whose goal is to eliminate cruelty to animals by providing for the fostering and adoption of cats that are homeless, abandoned, or where their owners can no longer care for them

How it works

HMA’s team of experts in nonprofit direct response fundraising and marketing, alongside some of Vancouver and Toronto's best designers, writers, editors, and other consultants, will work on a variety of projects during one single 24-hour period. It will begin at 9 am on December 4th and end at 9am on December 5th.

These projects may include:

  • Fundraising plans
  • Fundraising strategy
  • Radio PSAs
  • Videos
  • Copywriting
  • Direct mail appeal design
  • Web Design
  • Website development
  • Nonprofit marketing strategy
  • Other print design

During Goodstock HMA, the participating charities will have access to HMA’s staff of fundraising and direct response experts. We are also working with local vendors to generate free or reduced-fee services to complete specific projects, such as printing, media placements and broadcast production.

For over 20 years as one of Canada’s leading fundraising agencies, HMA has specialized in direct response fundraising and marketing for charities and foundations. Goodstock is our opportunity to give something back to the community and help smaller nonprofits make a greater difference with the work they do.
