Harvey is an internationally recognized trainer, and has taught fundraising across Canada, Australia, the United States, Europe, Africa, and Asia. He is a regular facilitator with Training Resources for the Environmental Community (TREC) based in Seattle, and has taught fundraising to thousands of groups. He has twice earned the highest rating of any speaker in the direct response and annual giving tracks at the U.S. Association of Fundraising Professionals, where he regularly speaks.

He has also been a featured speaker at the national Childcare Executives Conference (US), PBS Development Conference (US), Alberta NSFRE Conferences, the annual AFP Conference (Toronto), and the European International Fundraising Congress, among other events.
